we're all on the same page in regards to paedophilia and beastiality, right? that being, the two are disgusting acts and the perpretrators of these crimes should face serious consequences. i'm sure you and i and most people we ask would also agree with that sentiment. what if i said we should put mind-reading chips into everybody's heads and make sure they never think about children or animals in that light? i'm sure now you disagree and think i'm insane for suggesting the idea. does that mean you're jumping to the defence of paedophiles?
on october 26th, 2023 the online safety act passed in the UK, and in july 25th 2025, age verification was made mandatory in order to access adult content on the internet. the goal of the act is to protect children, preventing them from seeing illegal and legal content which may harm them by encouraging or glorifying eating disorders, self-harm, or suicide, and of course any kind of pornography. the act also requires end-to-end encripted communication platforms to scan users' messages for child pornography and terrorism, though this has not been enforced just yet. age verification has rolled out to several platforms, some being discord, instagram, twitter, tiktok, and of course, pornhub and other explicit sites, though some of these smaller adult sites have opted to geo-block the uk entirely.
